2021 Genesis GV80
General information is still sketchy, but Genesis has been quick to point out some of the GV80’s features. It will be offered in 2- and 3-row configurations with rear- or all-wheel drive and the choice of 2.5- or 3.5-liter turbocharged engines mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. High-tech items offered — many a first for the company — include electronically controlled suspension, active road-noise cancellation, and an active-motion driver seat intended to reduce fatigue. There’s also handwriting recognition through the console-mounted Genesis Integrated Controller for such things as navigation destinations. Along with the expected assortment of safety tech, there’s Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning, said to learn the driving habits of individual drivers to mimic their driving patterns.
CG Says:
Although it has some stiff new competition in the premium midsize segment, we’ve been very impressed with the Genesis sedans we’ve driven. If the GV80 holds to that level, it looks to be a winner.
