All three Trail Editions are based on SR5 trim levels, offered with 2WD or 4WD, and are available in Army Green, Cement (gray), Midnight Black, and Super White, along with black badging and black seats with tan stitching. The Tacoma comes as a Double Cab extended cab, while the Tundra is a Crew Max crew cab.

Tacoma’s Trail Edition rides on dark gray 18-inch wheels with Kevlar tires and wears the grille from the high-line Limited. In the bed, there’s a 115-volt AC outlet along with dual side cargo boxes, the one on the driver’s side being insulated for use as a cooler.
The Tundra Trail Edition has similar bed-side bins, but has a chrome grille from its ritzier 1794 Edition sibling. The 4Runner Trail Edition is equipped with dark gray TRD off-road wheels, a Yakima Load Warrior rooftop cargo basket, and a specially fitted 40-quart cooler offered in either Army Green or Cement that secures in the cargo area.
All three Trail Editions — limited to 7000 Tacomas, 5000 Tundras, and 4000 4Runners — are due on sale this summer as 2021 models.
CG Says:
What impresses us most here are the bed-side storage bins offered on the Tacoma and Tundra pickups, though the special cooler for the 4Runner is kind of neat, too. In addition, their special trim helps give them a unique look, all of which may be a draw for some buyers.
