The 2025 Ram 1500 REV made its official debut at the 2023 New York Auto Show. Ram’s parent company, Stellantis, is making some big claims about this brand new, fully electric pickup truck, including a targeted driving range of up to 500 miles along with maximum payload and towing capacities of 2,700 and 14,000 lbs., respectively.
More from the New York Auto Show
From a design perspective, the front end is, surprisingly, not much different from the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept that debuted at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show. The headlights and illuminated Ram logo help set the REV apart from its gasoline-powered sibling, and it looks very sharp. While we criticized the concept for not breaking any other new styling ground, the production model introduced in New York is, sadly, a further regression. Aside from the available illuminated From the A-pillar back, you would have a hard time distinguishing it from the conventional Ram 1500.
Buyers can choose between two battery sizes. The standard 168 kilowatt-hour (kWh) pack is expected to offer up to 350 miles of range. The projected 500-mile option will be 229 kWh. Both will offer support for 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kilowatts, which Ram says can provide up to 110 miles of range in about 10 minutes. The truck can use bi-directional charging to supply power to another Stellantis-branded electric vehicle, an owner’s house, or even the electrical grid itself. Expected 0-60-mph acceleration time is 4.4 with projected maximum horsepower and torque ratings of 654 and 620 pound-feet, respectively. Ride and handling should be quite good thanks to an auto-leveling, four-corner air suspension with an independent multi-link rear setup. A limited degree of autonomous driving capability will be available with Hands-free Active Driving Assist and ParkSense Automated Parking.
Available interior tech includes 12- or 14.5-inch reconfigurable touch displays with split-screen capability. A new 10.25-inch touchscreen on the passenger side allows an occupant there to view the exterior vehicle cameras, navigation system, or plug in an external device via the included HDMI port. The REV will also adopt a digital key that uses an owner’s smartphone for access and starting.
The trim-level structure for the Ram REV ascends through Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and Tungsten. As the new flagship grade, the Tungsten will feature ventilated, quilted leather upholstery; suede headliner, sun visors, and A/B pillars; 24-way power driver and front-passenger seats with memory and massage; and a 23-speaker audio system.
Look for the 2025 Ram 1500 REV to go on sale some time in calendar 2024. Expect pricing to be in line with other fully electric trucks from Ford and General Motors, so likely starting around $55,000 and heading into the stratosphere from there.

CG Says:
Our thoughts about the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV concept largely apply to the production model. The REV looks like it will take the gas-powered truck’s excellent roots and build upon them for the electrified age. We hope it’s able to deliver on the promise of up to 500 miles of range. It’s too bad the company didn’t do more with the exterior styling. It didn’t need to be as radical as Chevrolet’s Silverado EV, but it could have at least looked a bit more like the Revolution concept.
