Chrysler is welcoming back a member of the brand’s minivan family, adding the 2025 Chrysler Voyager to its retail lineup as an option under $40,000.

Stellantis, former Chrysler Corporation, has built a reputation for resurrecting classic model names and applying them to new products. The Dodge Charger and Challenger are arguably the most famous, with those two vehicles leading a muscle-car revival in the late 2000s that only recently ended. The company is continuing this trend by re-introducing the Voyager moniker to an entry-level minivan that will go on sale in late 2024.

2025 Chrysler Voyager

The first Voyager was a full-size van sold by Chrysler’s long-defunct Plymouth division from 1974-1983. When the company pioneered the minivan segment in 1984, the Voyager name transferred to one of those models and was sold alongside the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country. When the Plymouth brand was retired in 2000, the Voyager name continued as a Chrysler-branded vehicle through 2004 in the US.

Voyager History

A version of the current-generation Chrysler Pacifica was available as the Voyager in 2020, though it was limited to fleet sales in 2022. For model-year 2025, Voyager returns as the new entry point into the Chrysler minivan stable. It will come in a single LX trim level with front-wheel drive, a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, and a 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive or plug-in electric drivetrain will remain exclusive to the Pacifica.

Voyager Features

Standard Voyager features include the brand’s trademark Stow ‘n Go for the two rear seating rows, power sliding side doors and rear liftgate, driver-seat memory, heated front seats and steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, blind-spot alert with rear cross-traffic detection, and adaptive radar cruise control.

Voyager Availability

The 2025 Chrysler Voyager LX starts at $39,995 plus destination fee. Dealers are taking orders now with the first units arriving at retail in the fourth quarter of this year.

CG Says

We appreciate Stellantis wanting to bring a more-affordable option to its minivan lineup, and the 2025 Voyager doesn’t look like it skimps on the features that will be most appealing to families. That said, the company pitching a $40,000 vehicle as a “budget-friendly” (their words from the official press release) option is rather head scratching since Kia’s excellent Carnival shares many of the same amenities while carrying a starting price that’s around $3,500 cheaper.
