2023 Fisker Ocean
Upstart American electric-vehicle automaker Fisker officially introduced its Ocean all-electric SUV at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, with company founder and CEO Henrik Fisker presenting new details about the vehicle’s features, specs, performance, and technologies. Although the company has teased the public before with concept versions of the Ocean, this is the first time journalists were given a chance to look at what Fisker says is essentially the production version. The Ocean is the first production vehicle from Fisker Inc.—not the same organization as Fisker’s original namesake company that made the Fisker Karma plug-in-hybrid sedan.

Presented here are Consumer Guide’s original highlights written in anticipation of Surf’s 2013 arrival.

Accord means something (the definition of accord is “agreement of import”), it’s memorable as a model name, and it rolls nicely off the tongue.

Bob Lutz is replacing the hybrid powertrain of the Fisker Karma with the Chevy Corvette’s ZR1 engine.
Bob Lutz has accomplished more in his golden years than most auto execs do in a lifetime. At age 69, Lutz became General Motors’ Vice Chairman of Product Development and helped create cars such as the Cadillac CTS, Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Malibu, Buick Enclave, Buick LaCrosse, and Pontiac Solstice. He also championed the electric/gas Chevrolet Volt before withdrawing from an active role at GM in 2009. Now at age 81, Lutz is launching a high-performance sedan, the VL Destino.

Fisker Atlantic
It looks like it’s one step forward for Fisker Automotive after a few steps back. The maker of luxury plug-in hybrid electric cars has announced the next vehicle in its expanding family—the Atlantic sedan—at this week’s New York Auto Show.
