In case you haven’t heard, the Volkswagen Group has announced the formation of an all-new lineup of electric SUVs and pickup trucks to be marketed under the Scout brand.

Volkswagen recently launched a new vehicle division that will focus on building fully electric pickup trucks and SUVs. Dubbed ‘Scout,” the first products that will be sold under this marque are slated to debut for the 2026 model year. They will, at least for now, be exclusively designed and sold in US market.

Yet, here we are–Alfa Romeo (Stelvio), Aston Martin (DBX), Bentley (Bentayga), Lamborghini (Urus), Maserati (Levante), Rolls-Royce (Cullinan) are all now in the truck game. Most shocking, perhaps, is that Ferrari will offer an SUV (Purosangue) for the 2022 model year. And of course, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche got into the SUV game (and profited big) years ago.
