Quick Spin: 2017 Infiniti QX30 Premium AWD

A sister vehicle to the recently introduced Q30, the QX30 differs from that small hatchback by offering an elevated ride height, standard AWD, and more muscular design elements.

The QX30 is powered by a turbocharged 208-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mated to a 7-speed automated-manual (dual-clutch) transmission.

The Q30 and QX30 were co-developed with Mercedes-Benz, and share their basic architecture with the Mercedes A- and GLA-Class vehicles.

The QX30 goes on sale next summer, and will compete with such small crossovers as the Audi A3, BMW X1 and X3, and the Lexus NX.

CG Says:

The 2017 QX30 fills a conspicuous void in the Infiniti lineup. With scores of both mainstream and premium shoppers migrating toward small crossovers, this newest QX should have little difficulty finding customers. The question is, will the QX30 meet customer expectations of what an Infiniti should look and feel like?
