Roush Mustang Stage 3 – Roush Exhaust

Roush Mustangs are known for their loud, menacing exhaust note. When we drove the 2014 Roush Mustang Stage 3 with the 675-horsepower Phase 3 package, we captured that exhilarating, ferocious noise. We present it here for your consideration. (Adjust your volume accordingly.) Roush exhaust.

Publisher Tom Appel still considers this to be the best exhaust note he’s ever enjoyed. And by enjoyed, we mean woke his neighbors with. What do you think? Of course, conducting this exercise in a parking garage added to the cacophony–and the fun. If you’ve heard a more exciting auto-related noise, please tell us what it is. The place for comments is down below. Be sure to mention whether or not you had a chance to drive said vehicle, and how often you blipped the throttle.

From Consumer Guide’s original review of the 2014 ROush Stage 3:

Roush’s basic package adds about $15,000 to the cost of whatever Mustang GT is used as the donor vehicle, and it’s easy to add another $10,000 in options on top of that. But choose your options carefully (we feel the Roush exhaust and Roush short-throw shifter are a virtual must), and you can have a truly special and thoroughly enjoyable car for less than $60,000. Granted, that’s in Corvette territory, but any Roush is a finely engineered limited-production vehicle in the vein of the original Shelby Mustangs of the 1960s, yet offers far greater performance with far better day-to-day civility. The initial cost is high, but this is a car that may hold its value well as a potential collectible.
