The 2023 Telluride gets an updated look via new front/rear fasciae, revised headlights and taillights, revised lower-door/side-sill trim, and new wheel designs. The cabin revisions are highlighted by a redesigned dashboard with dual 12.3-inch display screens (the infotainment touchscreen and available digital gauge cluster) that are curved and seamlessly integrated. Other interior updates include an available digital-camera-display rearview mirror, larger multi-color head-up display, and a standard WiFi hotspot.

Several new driver-assist technology features are available, including speed-limit-sign recognition, Forward Collision Avoidance with Evasive Steering Assist, Kia’s Highway Drive Assist 2 system (which features hands-on semi-autonomous highway driving capability with automatic lane-changing capability), and adaptive cruise control that uses navigation-system data to proactively slow the vehicle for upcoming curves in the road.

2023 Kia Telluride

The Telluride’s two new trim levels—X-Line and X-Pro—get unique upgrades that give them a rugged look and a bit more rough-terrain capability. The X-Line replaces the blackout-trim Nightfall Edition model in the Telluride lineup; it includes a unique grille design, bridge-type roof rails, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and X-Line logos inside and out. The X-Line’s ground clearance is raised by 10 millimeters for improved approach and departure angles, the traction-control system has been upgraded, and a tow mode has been added for improved trailering performance.

The X-Pro goes a bit further, adding 18-inch black wheels on Continental-brand all-terrain tires in addition to the X-Line’s equipment, along with a 110-volt inverter outlet in the cargo area and X-Pro badging. The X-Pro’s towing rating is bumped up to 5500 pounds, compared to 5000 pounds for other Tellurides. Both X-Line and X-Pro get a Downhill Brake Control, a hill decent control feature for steep terrain.

Pricing information should be released closer to the 2023 Telluride’s on-sale date later this year.

CG Says:

This freshening represents the first significant update the Kia Telluride has received since its launch for the 2020 model year. The Telluride was already one of the best vehicles in the three-row midsize SUV segment, and the enhancements for 2023 make it even more compelling. The X-Line and X-Pro models are in keeping with the current “outdoor adventurer” fashion trend that virtually all mainstream-brand SUVs are addressing in one way or another.
