Nissan’s newly redesigned Kicks subcompact crossover is not only larger than the previous generation of the likable little crossover, it is also more powerful and better equipped. For most American car shoppers this is good news, but for more budget-minded shoppers, this is also bad news. Sadly, yes, the Kicks has gone up in price for 2025—though not all that much.
Nissan Kicks Play
But, bargain-car shoppers, fear not, Nissan will still be selling a version of the previous-generation Kicks, now called Kicks Play. New for 2025—and already on sale in Canada—the Kicks Play is Exactly the same as last year’s Kicks, which means it is not offered with AWD, and it is still very attractively priced.
Prices and Trim Levels
Offered only is base “S” trim, the 2025 Kicks Play starts at just $22,910, and is offered with a limited of number of options to help keep things simple.
The new Kicks Play, along with the redesign Kicks, go on sale early in 2025.
CG Says:
For years, Ram sold a generation-old version of the 1500 pickup truck, dubbed 1500 Classic. And for shoppers working hard to keep their monthly payments under a certain price point, the Classic proved to be an excellent alternative to the pricier standard Ram. We applaud Nissan for making the affordable Kicks Play available for crossover shoppers in similar waters. The old Kicks was a great little car and an excellent value. And for new-car shoppers on a tight budget, the Play might just be the perfect value play.
