2019 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition
Nissan is set to take the wraps off a special Rock Creek Edition of its Pathfinder midsize crossover at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. Although primarily a trim package that adds unique 18-inch wheels, blacked-out exterior trim, two-tone upholstery with contrast stitching, metallic interior trim, and special badging, also included are a trailer-tow hitch and harness to make use of the Pathfinder’s 6000-lb towing capacity.
More from the Chicago Auto Show
Nissan says the package can be applied to front- and all-wheel-drive versions of the SV and SL trim levels of the 7-passenger Pathfinder, and that the price of $995 reflects a $1315 savings compared to buying the items separately. If you don’t like the Midnight Pine Metallic of the Pathfinder shown, no problem; there are six other colors available.
Both trim levels can have an added package that includes more features. SVs can be ordered with a $980 Technology Package that brings NissanConnect with navigation system and satellite radio, along with heated cloth front seats, heated steering wheel, and heated outside mirrors. A $2110 Premium Package for the higher-line SL adds a panoramic moonroof and Bose audio system.
Rock Creek Editions of the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder are due on sale this spring.
CG Says:
While it might be tough to justify an extra grand for fancy trim pieces, there are some added features that help make the Rock Creek’s price more palatable. It’s probably not enough to convince someone to buy one who otherwise wouldn’t, but at least it will help those who do to find their Pathfinder in a parking lot packed with others.
