Jaguar’s two-seat sports car sees its first significant styling update for 2021, and the refreshed car made its North American debut at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. The 2021 Jaguar F-Type gets some nicely executed exterior design revisions, and a few other updates.

The new look comes courtesy of slim LED headlights with J-signature daytime running lights, a new clamshell hood, a slightly larger grille, slim LED taillights, new bumpers front and rear, and other understated updates. The headlights are more horizontally oriented before, and Jaguar says the hood’s surfaces are “softer and more organic than before, as if they were liquid metal.”
Inside, there’s a new 12.3-inch reconfigurable HD digital instrument cluster, the latest version of Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, and several detail revisions and newly available trim features.
As before, the F-Type’s engine choices consist of a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder (296 hp), supercharged 3.0-liter V6 (380 hp), and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. The V8 comes standard in the high-performance F-Type R model, where it previously made 550 horsepower—but that figure has been bumped to 575 for 2021 (the same rating as the previous Jaguar F-Type SVR model). F Type Rs also receive an uprated chassis with new springs, dampers, anti-roll bars and rear knuckles, as well as new 10-spoke wheels on tires that are 10mm wider than before.

CG Says:
The 2021 Jaguar F-Type’s styling updates are subtle but effective—they go a long way toward making this 2013-vintage basic design look fresh and new. Of all the products in Jaguar’s current lineup, the F-Type is truest to the brand’s heritage, so we’re happy to see it get some attention.
