Talk about a good run. The Pontiac Grand Prix, introduced for the 1962 model year, remained in continuous production until 2008. During that time its mission change a few times. Grand Prix started out as a premium coupe, and was for a time the most-expensive Pontiac ever offered. Premium versions of the Bonneville and Firebird Trans Am would eventually claim the priciest-Pontiac title.

Met my dad for lunch recently. From our table at a nearby eatery we had an excellent view of the street. My dad, who has a mild curiosity about happenings in the auto world, commented occasionally on vehicles passing the restaurant. While we worked to polish off the chips and salsa before our enchiladas arrived, dad took note of a crossover he couldn’t identify.

Dubbed the “1500 Revolution BEV,” this rig boasts several novel features that could help it stand out from its Ford and General Motors rivals.
