EV9 is a three-row SUV that will offer seating for up to six or seven occupants. Based on photos provided by the manufacturer, the boxy exterior design and large greenhouse give the cabin a very airy appearance. Its underlying Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) will ensure a flat floor to provide ease of access and more passenger space, particularly in the third row.

One of the EV9’s more novel amenities is a second seating row that can swivel 180 degrees to face the rear. This isn’t a new feature as Chrysler’s Town & Country minivan from 2008 offered similar functionality.

For better or worse, EV9 will have few physical buttons for the driver and front passenger to interact with. Instead, most functions will be governed by the large center display atop the dashboard.

We’ll see how everything with this new EV shakes out when Kia announces its full specifications, which is slated to take place before the end of March.

CG Says:

Based on the initial photographs, the 2024 Kia EV9 is poised to be another home run for the brand. The exterior design does a fine job of blending SUV ruggedness with current EV trends while the interior appears to be both stylish and highly functional. Hopefully the projected driving range and pricing will be reasonable.
