2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon at Badlands Off Road Park
Badlands Off-Road Park in Attica, Indiana, is something like heaven on earth for off-road aficionados. It’s an incredible facility that spans 800-plus acres and encompasses a broader variety of off-road terrain than you’d ever expect to find in the Midwest. There are sand dunes, forested areas, streams for fording, several types of gravel (part of the park was previously a quarry), loose rocks and solid-rock trails, and lots of good ol’ dirt and mud. There are trails that are easy enough for children, trails that will challenge the most-experienced off-roader, and trails at most every level in between those extremes.

by John Biel
Note: The following story was excerpted from the December 2018 issue of Collectible Automobile magazine.
Hummer was badly wounded in 2008, first by the rapid rise in gasoline prices and then by the increasingly shaky economy. Ultimately, though, the brand was a casualty of General Motors’s June 1, 2009, bankruptcy filing, and with it went an intriguing vehicle that was snuffed out soon after its arrival.

Volkswagen Tarok Concept
The 2019 New York International Auto Show is just around the corner, and Volkswagen will be displaying a concept version of a vehicle it says it doesn’t intend to bring to the United States market… at least not yet. The VW Tarok pickup concept was first shown at the San Paolo International Motor Show in Brazil late last year, and a production version is slated to go on sale in South America in the near future.
