The Jeep Wrangler is easily one of the most popular new vehicles for aftermarket accessorizing; Jeep says that more than 90 percent of Wrangler owners buy at least one accessory for their vehicle. Naturally, Jeep’s parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recognizes this thriving market, and offers a broad array of more than 200 official factory-engineered parts and accessories through its Mopar parts division and the Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) brand. Now, Jeep is taking the accessorized Wrangler concept one step further with the introduction of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler JPP 20 at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show.
2020 Jeep Wrangler JPP 20
Although the average Wrangler owner is likely to outfit his or her vehicle with accessories after the initial purchase as their time and finances allow, some Wrangler shoppers don’t want to wait that long, and would also like the piece of mind that comes with having their accessory equipment professionally installed. That’s where the Wrangler JPP 20 comes in; it’s essentially a limited-edition “pre-accessorized” Wrangler that comes with a generous helping of authentic JPP goodies already installed by Mopar Custom Shop factory-trained technicians.
The JPP 20 comes solely as a Wrangler 4-door in either Ocean Blue or White, and will be available with all three Wrangler engine choices: the 270-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, 285-hp 3.6-liter V6, or 260-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. Special exterior-appearance features include an American-flag hood graphic, blacked-out fender vents and fuel door, JPP decal on the passenger-side rear quarter panel, and JPP badges on the driver’s side front fender and rear swing-gate.
The JPP 20’s accessories include a JPP steel front bumper and skid plate, JPP Rubicon Winch with 100 feet of Warn Spydura synthetic rope, tube doors (in addition to the standard full aluminum doors), JPP Durabull-coated rock rails, and a mesh sun bonnet. The interior wears Katzkin-brand Tuscany leather seats with an embroidered JPP logo on the front seatbacks, Mopar all-weather floormats, and a Mopar Cargo Tray Kit.
Each Wrangler JPP 20 will be delivered with an owner’s kit that includes a personalized booklet, various memorabilia, and a customer credit that can be used toward additional dealer-installed accessories—namely a 2-inch lift kit, 5-inch and 7-inch off-road LED light kits, and a choice of one of five JPP off-road wheel/tire sets.
The Jeep Wrangler JPP 20 is slated to arrive in dealerships this summer.
CG Says:
Under the ownership of FCA, there have been plenty of special limited-edition Mopar-branded/Mopar-accessorized vehicles over the last decade or so, and the Jeep Wrangler JPP 20 follows this tradition. The JPP 20 is a decent strategy to attract a new realm of owners into the customized Jeep fold… and we wouldn’t be surprised to see these vehicles retain a bit of extra collectability in light of their official factory-produced status and other special-edition baubles.
