Building on the Crown lineup in the U.S., Toyota adds the 2025 Crown Signia SUV with premium trappings, standard AWD, and hybrid-only drivetrain. The all-new, two-row SUV will focus on the luxury side of Toyota’s lineup with XLE and Limited trim levels, and a bevy of up-level standard features.

The Crown Signia not only shares the existing Crown’s name, but looks the part, as well. The squinty headlights, mesh-like grille appearance, lifted tail and single-stripe taillight are all part of the family resemblance. Interior design also mimics the sedan with the standard 12.3-inch digital cluster that flows into the 12.3-inch infotainment display. Where the SUV departs from the sedan is the cargo area. With a fold-flat second row, the 2025 Crown Signia offers a 6.5-foot-long load floor.

While the Crown sedan offers both hybrid and Hybrid Max powertrains, the Crown Signia offers a straight hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 243 horsepower and a combined city/highway estimated fuel economy of 36 mpg. That’s impressive considering this five-passenger SUV is all-wheel-drive only.

In addition to the base hybrid powertrain, the XLE and Limited trims are a cue that this new SUV is putting emphasis on luxury. Premium standard features include heated front seats, heated steering wheel, large display screens, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Qi wireless charging, and a power-activated liftgate. Available features include a panoramic glass roof, 11-speaker JBL audio system, leather seats, heated rear seats, and the ability to use your phone as a key.

As you’d expect, Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 system is standard, as are blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Available safety tech includes an around-view camera, front cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist.

The 2025 Crown Signia is expected to be available in the summer of 2024.

CG Says:

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia looks good on paper, but this hybrid-only, up-level SUV has us begging the question: What happens to Venza? We don’t have any specs available for the Crown Signia just yet, but it appears it might be a skosh bigger than Venza, but does Toyota really need nine hybrid SUVs in its lineup. Time will tell.
