Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles is set to bring another lusty Italian machine to U.S. shores. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is a premium compact rear-wheel-drive 4-door sedan that is set to debut in top-line high-performance trim with some pretty impressive specs.
As one of the top-selling vehicles in the United States, the Ford Escape wouldn’t seem to need much tweaking. But an onslaught of new and freshened competition has Ford management anxious to keep their popular compact crossover at the forefront of its class.
Mazda unveiled its redesigned 2016 CX-9 three-row crossover SUV at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The new CX-9 is 1.2 inches shorter than its predecessor but rides a wheelbase that’s 2.2 inches longer, which aids both legroom and rear-seat entry and exit. The CX-9’s styling follows Mazda’s “KODO—Soul of Motion” motif, and the look dovetails nicely with the CX-9’s smaller CX-5 sibling.
Scion showed a concept version of one of its upcoming new models at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The C-HR Concept was previously shown as a Toyota at the Paris and Frankfort auto shows, but it’s wearing Scion badges for its U.S. debut.
Fiat revives the name of one of its iconic roadsters on a new platform that’s shared with the 2016 Mazda Miata. The 2017 Fiat 124 Spider wears retro-themed bodywork that shares nary a panel with the Miata; instead, it lifts design cues from the original Fiat 124 Spider, which debuted for 1966.
The recently introduced 10th generation of Honda’s popular compact-car lineup is set to expand soon, as Honda unveiled the production version of its soon-to-arrive Civic Coupe at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Naturally, the new Civic Coupe shares the enhancements and features of its recently introduced sedan counterpart (you can read our Civic sedan First Spin report here), but wears a sleek, fastback-shaped two-door-coupe body.
Kia’s popular compact crossover is redesigned for 2017 on a slightly larger platform. It gains bolder styling, a more spacious interior, and a host of safety and connectivity equipment.
Lincoln rolled out a significant revamp of its midsize sedan at the 2015 L.A. Auto Show. The 2017 Lincoln MKZ wears fresh styling with a new one-piece grille, boasts a more powerful V6 engine, and promises a higher level of interior quality and all-around luxury than the current model.
