Nissan redesigned its full-size pickup last year, which was introduced as the “heavy half-ton” Titan XD with a class-exclusive diesel engine. At the New York Auto Show, the company debuted its gas-powered sibling, due to go on sale this summer as a 2017 model.
Shown at the New York Auto Show was a 2017 Toyota Corolla specially decked-out to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary.
Genesis, the new luxury brand of Hyundai (and confusingly, one of Hyundai’s past models), showed a hybrid sports-sedan concept at the New York Auto Show that forecasts not only a hybrid powertrain, but also the make’s future design direction.
Jeep introduced a new-for-2017 Trailhawk version of its Grand Cherokee midsize SUV at the 2016 New York Auto Show, along with an enhanced-for-2017 Grand Cherokee Summit model. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk brings a higher level of off-road prowess, and the updated Summit brings a more-luxurious interior and new features to the Grand Cherokee lineup’s top-end luxury model.
What’s next … a Ferrari SUV?!?
With sport-utilities being birthed by some very unexpected mothers — including Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Jaguar, and now Maserati — we’d no longer put it beyond the realm of possibility. Though we’re pretty sure Enzo would do a barrel roll on his racetrack in the sky.
Lincoln unveiled a Navigator Concept at the 2016 New York Auto Show that forecasts what’s to come for the forthcoming redesigned production Navigator. The new look of the Concept matches the design motif of the recently unveiled 2017 Lincoln Continental and 2017 MKZ.
It was back in 2002 that the Scion brand made its debut at the New York Auto Show, so perhaps it was fitting that its departure occurred there as well.
Subaru unveiled both the hatchback and sedan versions of its all-new 2017 Impreza compact car in conjunction with the 2016 New York Auto Show. The redesigned Impreza is slightly larger all-around than its predecessor: it grows one inch in wheelbase, 1.6 inches in overall length, and 1.5 inches in width.
Toyota revealed a refreshed Highlander at the New York Auto Show that features some styling tweaks along with notable powertrain and equipment revisions.
Honda’s luxury division unveiled a restyled, refreshed version of its popular midsize luxury SUV at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The 2017 Acura MDX gets the brand’s new signature “diamond pentagon” grille (which debuted in the Acura Precision Concept shown at this year’s Detroit Auto Show), and a new Sport Hybrid version that uses a three-motor Super Handling-All Wheel Drive system similar to the Acura NSX supercar and the flagship RLX Sport Hybrid sedan.
